Collection of nine letters, with envelopes, to Norma Chambers from Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas. Three autograph letters signed from Gertrude Stein, dating from late 1945, discuss a play, possibly "Yes Is For a Very Young Man," and mention French fashion designer Pierre Balmain. Six autograph letters signed from Alice B. Toklas, dating from 1946 to 1949, following Stein's death, discuss Stein and the play, which Chambers helped promote, and mention Lamont Johnson, Thornton Wilder, and others. Accompanied by one autograph map, signed by Balmain, identifying shops and streets neighboring the Place Vendrò‚me and rue de Rivoli in the first arrondissement in Paris.
